Our purpose at Lighthouse can be condensed into a single statement:

 

“Serving our community, reaching the world”

 

Our statement of purpose is based on two teachings of Jesus:

 

"Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart…soul…and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:36-40)

 

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)

 

Lighthouse exists to glorify God, point people to Him, and to build the spiritual community that Jesus intended when He said, "I will build my church..." A community that is not restricted by a human perception of “what a church should be like”, but rather a spiritual family that is continually striving to live out the principles that Jesus made the foundation of his life and ministry.
